Week beginning 26th April
This week in Fir Class...
We have had a lovely week this week in Fir Class, and the children have worked so hard to make progress across the week. In Maths we have been revising decimal numbers; the children's confidence was growing by the day.
For Literacy, we continued with our work on formal letters. On Wednesday, the children all received a 'package' from a delivery company, with something disappointing inside. The class used these deliveries to generate ideas for writing a letter of complaint. It was wonderful to see the improvement between their letters this week and the ones they started with a couple of weeks ago.
We had another cricket session on Thursday with our sports coach, and this time the children got into a game. In the space of just one lesson it was evident that the children were coming up with strategies to beat the rival team, which was excellent. In PSHE, we learned about how our bodies use energy and which activities burn more energy. To follow this up, the children had a dance off, which was a great end to the week.
