This week in our learning walks we have been focusing on extending our challenges around fairy tales.  We have discussed all the fairy tales that we have been learning so far and how we can use our learning enviornment to support these investigations, we have discussed making the three billy goats some delicious stew, the three bears a tea part and some new homes for the 3 little pigs using the big blocks.  Lots of other discussions took place between the children who were then extending their thinking.

In phonics we are working on applying our new skills into reading and writing - using the sounds we have learnt to create and read simple regular words such as rat, net, cat, pin.  The children have also been working hard on using their sound knowledge when writing their diaries.  One activity that they have really enjoyed this week is their handwriting - they are so proud when they write their letters correctly!  Well done all!

In maths we have been working hard on our number knowledge and applying this in 1 more and 1 less challenge activities using a variety of resources to ensure that we are secure in this knowledge.
