Our work this week

This week we have been busy with our Elmer Challenges, making sure that we were using our knowledge of the characters in the stories to help us with our busy learning.

In our literacy we also wrote to the ducks to let them know that we miss them.  We had to listen carefully to the sounds in words and also use some of our keywords.  Mrs Stevens was very proud of our hard work.  We have also learnt a new sound - it is a two phoneme one sound - oi!  What words can you find with this sound in them?  Geraldine the Giraffe can help you on  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRTITdRL_cU

In our maths we have been working on numbers over 10.  We have been learning that 11 is ten and one more and how these numbers look on a ten frame.  Did you know that 20 is two 10 frames?  Have a look at some whiterose maths to support understanding at home.https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/to-20-beyond-week-1/

In our investigations we have been finding out about a pulley and how it works.  We now have our own pulley in our outdoor area - it is fantastic!  Have a look at the pictures of us exploring at the top of our page and ask us what it did!

Don't forget to look at the home learning link and to email Mrs Stevens on Pineclass@manea.cambs.sch.uk if you have any questions.

Well done for a fantastic half term - enjoy the break and we will see you on the 7th June.
