Look at what we are using to represent Van Gogh's Starry Night

Our work creating our own Starry Night

This week we are investigating light and dark.  We are sequencing events in our day - using language of first, then, next and discussing what would happen when, would it be in the morning, at night etc.  We are also reading the story Night Monkey and Day Monkey.  We are learning a new song (please see the home link info for this) and we will be investigating in a 'dark den' - thinking about what is easy to do in the dark and what is harder.

In our phonics we are applying the knowledge we have learnt so far - our sounds s a t p i n m and d.  We will be creating words using these sounds.  We are also using our sound knowledge in writing our diaries.

We are continuing with our forest school work - creating firework pictures in our outdoor area with collected materials, investigating pumpkins and learning in our forest school area.

Our artwork this week is investigating Van Gogh's Starry Night painting - we will be representing this using different resources, attempting to create the affects that Van Gogh worked on.
